Patience is a virtue – especially when growing. The moment you pick up the scissors significantly determines the terpene profile (flavor) and the spectrum of effects (high) of your harvest.

• Harvesting too early: Potency is often lower, the aroma is not yet fully developed, and the buds lose a lot of volume during drying.

2. The Safest Signs: Reading Trichomes Like a Pro

Forget myths and gut feelings. The surest indicator is the trichomes. These are the tiny, mushroom-shaped resin crystals on the buds and the small sugar leaves.

The 3 Phases of Trichomes:

To check their condition, you'll need a magnifier (at least 30x) or a pocket microscope. Here's what to look for:

• 1. Clear / Transparent:
  ⚠️ Do not harvest! The plant is still immature. Cannabinoid production has not yet peaked.
• 2. Milky / Cloudy:
  🚀 Highest THC concentration. When almost all trichomes appear milky-white (like plastic), you've reached maximum psychoactive potency. The effect is usually euphoric and energizing ("head high").
• 3. Amber / Golden:
  🛋️ Physical relaxation. THC begins to oxidize. A higher proportion of amber trichomes provides a relaxing, body-focused "body high."
