With the entry into force of the Cannabis Act (CanG) on April 1, 2024, the legal situation for cannabis seeds in Germany has fundamentally changed. We kindly ask you to take note of the following provisions of the current law.

1. Possession and Acquisition of Cannabis Seeds

The possession and acquisition of cannabis seeds are generally legal for adults in Germany.

• Possession: According to the law, cannabis seeds are not considered cannabis and are therefore not subject to quantitative restrictions in the sense of possession limits for dried cannabis (§ 3 CanG).
• Acquisition and Trade: Commercial trade in cannabis seeds in Germany is permitted under the CanG, provided that the seeds are not intended for illegal cultivation. The import of cannabis seeds for private cultivation is permitted exclusively from EU member states (§ 4 (2) CanG).

2. Intended Use and Cultivation (Personal Cultivation)

The handling of cannabis seeds is permitted, provided that the cannabis seeds are not intended for illegal cultivation (§ 4 (1) CanG).

• Permitted Cultivation: Adults may cultivate up to three living cannabis plants for personal consumption at their place of residence or usual abode (§ 9 CanG).
• Purpose of Use: The acquisition of our seeds must serve the purpose of legally permitted personal cultivation or use by a cultivation association.
• Note: The commercial production of cannabis seeds in Germany is prohibited.

3. Note on Use as a Souvenir

Although cannabis seeds can be legally acquired and possessed according to the current CanG, they were traditionally often sold as a collector's item or souvenir without the intention of germination, as cultivation was illegal before April 1, 2024.

• With the legalization of private cultivation, the seeds are now primarily intended for this purpose.
• We would like to emphasize that any cultivation that exceeds the legal limit of three living plants per adult is illegal and may constitute a criminal offense.
