Why do we recommend the water glass more than direct sowing in soil? It's simple: control. Many beginners (and even professionals) tend to keep the seedling soil either too wet or too dry. In the soil, you don't see what's happening. In the water glass, however, you activate the embryo through osmosis under perfect conditions.

Float your seeds in a glass of room temperature water (approx. 22°C) for 12 to a maximum of 24 hours. The water softens the hard shell of IBL or BX seeds and signals to the plant: the season is starting!
The advantage: You avoid the typical mistake of "waterlogged" soil, where seeds often rot before they can break through the shell.
Attention: As soon as the seeds sink (they don't always) or show a tiny white tip, they must be placed in the medium. Do not wait longer than 48 hours – risk of suffocation!

Directly in Soil or Starter Cubes
The most natural method. Plant seeds approx. 0.5 - 1 cm deep. But be careful: if the soil is not perfectly pre-calibrated (pH value & moisture), you risk the seed "suffocating" or drying out. We generally advise beginners to use the water glass combination.
